This is a very popular support issue we often get contacted about.
This issue may have arisen because you did not complete Step 5 correctly when setting up the event. Alternatively, it could be due to an event being removed from the category for testing purposes and thus not being visible to your customers. Regardless of the reason, here’s how to fix it.
I have just added an event called ‘Scream Night’ for Halloween. However, when I look at my index page, I notice that it is not showing in the listings.
When I check my ‘Published Events’ listing, I can see that the event has been created and is published. So why doesn’t it show?
This is a very easy fix, like most issues.
To begin, ensure that you are logged into the online admin area.
Now let’s go through some checks first.
Firstly, let’s make sure the event is listed and set as published.
Using the left-hand menu, select the ‘Admissions’ tab and then the ‘Events’ tab.
This will open the ‘Events’ window, where you can see a listing of all your events. The top section is for published events. A published event is an event that you are ready to sell to your customers.
Important Information - It is showing as ‘Unpublished’
An event must be published for tickets to be sold. If it is listed in the ‘Unpublished’ area, then you need to select the event and click the ‘Publish’ button. Once clicked, it will automatically take you back to the ‘Events’ listing window.
Now, check to see if you can see it in the published table listing.
I can now see my event in the published listing, so I know it is flagged as published.
Now let’s fix this issue by adding it to a category, which is primarily why an event does not show. Think of a category as a shop window. If it’s not in the shop window, then no one will see it.
Using the left-hand menu, select the ‘Event Categories’ tab.
This will open the ‘Categories’ window. Here, you will see a list of all the categories that have been created. If you have not created any categories, then you will only see the default ‘Events’ category listed.
Select whichever category you wish to add your event to by clicking on it.
For this demonstration, I only have the default ‘Events’ category to pick from.
This will open the ‘Collection Edit’ window. This is where you’re going to add the event!
Extra Information
If you scroll down to the ‘Collection Products’ table, it will list all events stored in this collection.
Now, using the data field, start to type the event name. You will see that it starts to show you events with those letters. Once you can see your event that you want to add to that category, then select it.
Here, I can see my event ‘Scream Night’, so I have selected this event. This will add the event into the data field. All I need to do now is click the ‘Add’ button.
Do a quick check of the table to see if it has indeed been added, which it has.
Now it’s time to check the ticketing website to see if you can now see the event being listed. Remember to refresh your website page!
