This is for users with admin access to Merlin Tickets. You can access the admin area by viewing your website (e.g. https://merlindemo.merlintickets.co.uk) then adding /admin to the end of the URL (e.g. https://merlindemo.merlintickets.co.uk/admin)
In this article we will show you what are discount codes and how to set them in your .merlintickets website.
To start off, you must be in the admin area of your website, then on the left-hand side use the navigation menu and look for 'Config', as such:
After clicking 'Config' you should see a new menu drop down from the 'Config' tile, then click on 'Discount Codes' as such:
You will now be re-directed to the discount code page of Merlin Online, which should look like this:
To create discount codes:
In order to create a discount code, click the this will re-direct you to the discount code creation page, which looks like this:
Discount code: This will be the text your customer types into the discount code section of the basket, so make sure it's easily memorable and relates to the theme of the event/product. (Note: The discount code must be typed in capital letters when setting it up.)
Valid From: This is the day from when the discount code becomes active
Valid To: This is the day the discount code becomes inactive
Discount Rate: The percentage the discount code reduces the order by (i.e. An £8.00 order with a discount rate of 10 (10%) becomes a £7.20 order)
Min Quantity: The minimum amount of tickets the customer must have in their basket before the discount code can apply
Min Value: The minimum amount a customer must spend on the order before the discount code can apply
Active: Whether the discount code is active for customers to use (tick the box if you want to be active, untick if otherwise)
Below is a example discount:
(Note: This is a test discount, make sure you add a valid date to your discount in order for it to work)
Linking the discount code to a product/collection:
Click into the discount code you would like to link, then look for this section:
Here you can add individual products by entering the event title or event code and pressing the '+ Add products'. You can also link the discount code to collections, which means the discount code can be used on any event within that collection.

Once you have linked the discount code, scroll back to the top of the page and press 'Save'.

To edit discount codes:
Go to the discount code page and click on one of your existing discount codes, as such:
Once you have done that you should be prompted to the existing page of the discount. This should look like the discount code example I provided above.
That is all for discount code creation, you should now be able to create your very own discount codes and let your customers cause havoc with them!
